To get started with ALPIS, follow the three easy steps:

• Identify the area of your pipeline that is susceptible to leakage or is in need of inspection. To optimize survey efficiency on gathering lines, it is advantageous to inspect a significant number of miles (100 plus) in the same area.  
   
• Prepare GPS data, maps, alignment sheets or any other data that identifies location of the lines and related equipment. If GPS data is known to be inaccurate, consider having a company representative present in the helicopter to assist in locating the line.
